ESPN reached out to the White House earlier this week in hopes that President Donald Trump would partake in their annual March Madness bracket challenge. Trump, known to be somewhat of a sports fan over the years, has declined their offer.
“We expressed our interest to the White House in continuing the presidential bracket. They have respectfully declined,” -Spokesperson for ESPN (via the Washington Post)
Wow. You really let me down this time, Donald. Really? You couldn’t just fill out a bracket? I just don’t understand what the big deal is with this one. The only logical explanation that I can think of is that Donald is afraid of being dead wrong on this. My guess is that Donald has absolutely no idea what’s going on in any sport right now other than the fact that Brady and Belichick just won the Super Bowl. And if that’s the case, that’s a pretty lame move by one of the ‘cooler’ presidents we’ve seen.
“We look forward to working with ESPN on another opportunity in the near future,” -White House spokeswoman Hope Hicks. (via the Washington Post)
Hope Hicks can take this quote and shove it up her own ass. ESPN already tried to reach out and you declined. One of the most obnoxious things someone can do in life is decline your invitation for no good reason just to say ‘Don’t worry, we’ll hangout real soon.’ Nope, doesn’t work like that. If I’m ESPN, I’m forgetting about Trump. The last thing this guy needs is more distractions.
Obama was a regular when it came to filling out his bracket every year and I love him for that. You couldn’t stop the guy from getting involved when March rolls around. All politics aside, it’s things like this that made Obama a true bro. And before everyone goes crazy and tries to tell me about how poor of a president he was, just save it. They’re all awful in their own ways. And when that’s the case, the least you can do is have a genuine personality and enjoy March Madness like the rest of us.
