If the season ended today, the second-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers would find themselves up against the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the NBA playoffs. Just two days after the Boston Celtics took over first place in the Eastern Conference, the Pacers decided to bring back guard Lance Stephenson. Coincidence? I think not. Stephenson spent the better half of his career in Indiana before being moved around the league and seeing a significant drop off in his game. The highlight of his Pacers career is none other than the infamous moment when he creepily blew into LeBron James’ ear during the 2014 playoff series between Indy and the Miami Heat. When you take all of this into consideration, there is only one logical explanation behind this completely random 3-year, $12M agreement: the Indiana Pacers re-signed Lance Stephenson to blow in LeBron’s ear. That’s it.
